Maya is the common choice for character animation and film VFX. 3ds Max is widely used for modelling, games and architectural visualisation. Many studios use both.
Can licences move between artists?
Autodesk subscriptions are assigned to named users, and an administrator can reassign them when people join or leave. Chaos floating licences can be shared across machines.
